5 TIPS FOR NEW LASH ARTISTS JUST STARTING OUT :

lash business tips Dec 12, 2023
  1. Begin with the Essentials: Before splurging on all the fancy extras, invest in the essentials. A comfortable massage bed, a sturdy stool, proper lighting like a ring light, essential tools like tweezers, commonly used lashes, quality adhesive, and other necessities are key. Once you've recuperated your initial investment, consider expanding your toolkit with fun extras.
  2. Practice on Models: Start by practicing on friends, family, or coworkers. Initially, offer a few sets for free to refine your techniques. Afterward, charge at least the cost of the product and work up from there. Use this time to perfect your craft, emphasizing quality over speed.
  3. Build Your Portfolio: Capture everything! Photograph your model sets from various angles, different eye shapes, styles, and setups. Create aftercare guides and visually engaging content. Analyze these images for improvements, and seek feedback from mentors or trainers using these visuals.
  4. Share Your Work: Utilize your social media platforms to showcase your work. Use minimal filters, opt for solid backgrounds, display before-and-after transformations, and always ensure excellent lighting to accentuate your skills.
  5. Engage with Your Community: Learn marketing and networking strategies. Besides social media, create simple yet impactful business cards for local distribution or collaborations, giveaways, etc. Establish a presence on platforms like Google Business to gather client feedback and reviews.

Remember, mastering the fundamentals takes time. Dedicate yourself to perfecting your art, absorbing knowledge, and refining your techniques. After that, everything else will naturally fall into place.

I hope this guidance proves helpful on your journey! Let me know if this blog helped you in any way and if it did feel free to share with a friend!
