How to STAND OUT by offering an elevated client experience

lash business tips Jan 20, 2024

If you're wanting to position yourself as the go-to lash artist in your area, attract new clients, keep your current clients happy, charge luxury prices, it all starts with offering an amazing and unique experience for your clients.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when curating your guest experience :

  1. Booking - The booking process for your clients should be quick and easy. If clients find you on social media, google or anywhere online, it should be clear how to book with you. I recommend having a user-friendly online booking system. This is the most professional way to display your services, prices and policies. It also takes more tasks off your plate by eliminating the back and forth and streamlining bookings and having clients fill out the necessary forms digitally is sooo much easier! My favorite booking systems are Vagaro, Square and Acuity.
  2. Consultation - The consultation is most likely the first interaction you'll have with the client so you need to make a great first impression. Start with a consultation form so you can learn about your clients history, expectations and goals for the service, communicate how to prepare for the service and aftercare, etc. Whether you send it digitally or have them fill out a paper form in person, go over the information with them, answer any questions and make sure you both are on the same page before starting the service. The consultation is the pillar to ensure a positive outcome and guarantee the clients satisfaction so don't take this step lightly.
  3. During the Service - Your space, appearance and demeanor should exude professionalism. Your space should be spotless, and have a calming atmosphere so they can feel safe to lay down with their eyes closed for a long period of time. The smells and music should be not overwhelming but relaxing. Remember they are laying down with their eyes closed, so in a very vulnerable state, most even plan on sleeping, so their comfort and security should always be top priority. No loud or upbeat music or disruptions. They are receiving a service that requires someone to be working on their eyes, one of the most important parts of our body, this requires a significant amount of trust. To gain that trust, dress professionally, speak in a professional manner and educate them on anything they have questions about. Treat them special and with the utmost respect and care. Let the client lead the appointment, if they want to talk the whole time, keep the conversation on them and lighthearted, no deep or controversial subjects. Or if they want to relax, sense that and don't keep trying to get them to engage in conversation. Be aware and sense their feelings or needs before they have to verbalize them. Offering refreshments, a heated blanket in the winter, a complimentary eye mask, are nice touches as well.
  4. Retaining Clients - Always check-in with your clients before and after their service. If they are a returning client, check in to see if they'd like to change anything or if they're happy with the previous look. Check in with new clients a few days after their first appointment to ask how everything is doing. Always leave an open line of communication, for clients to express any concerns or questions so you can make necessary adjustments. This is a big factor in maintaining your clients happiness. If you feel like they may be holding back because they don't want to hurt your feelings, you might try sending out an anonymous survey to gain feedback. Survey monkey is a great free option you can email to your clients.

Making a commitment to exceed your clients expectations and offer them a lash experience they've never had before will no doubt make you stand out among other options! Your clients should enjoy their time with you and always leave their appointments feeling heard, valued, and happy, this should be top priority. I hope you enjoyed learning some ways you can go above and beyond to curate your guest experience, resulting in happy clients and a successful business!
