SOCIAL MEDIA TIPS FOR LASH ARTISTS
Nov 28, 2023Social media is an amazing tool that allows you to connect with people from all over the world and it’s FREE marketing you should be utilizing to build and grow your business to potential customers.
First things first, is make sure all of your accounts are converted into a business account to get access to analytics and other statistics that will help you know when your followers engage with your account, what kind of content they interact with most, you also get to use call to action buttons, very helpful things like that!
PICTURES
The star of the show right?! Take time on your first lash sets, my unpopular opinion, 3-4hrs if that’s how long it takes to lash 100%. Take breaks and even take the tape off and look at your work and adjust certain lashes and see how that alters the set. Once you’re happy with it, let’s set up to take bomb pictures. First you want to have great lighting, no shadows. Then a solid background, no distractions, You also want to think about maintaining the same background in every pic to keep consistency. Take your time to take high quality pictures to build your portfolio, before and after pics are always a hit!
If you’re going to edit, keep it very simple just adjusting lighting/shadows, you don’t want to adjust how the lashes actually look in real life to set the right expectations for potential clients.
THEME
Your theme may change a few times throughout your business and that’s okay! Create a mood board/pinterest to find your individual style, brand colors, something that is timeless that you love and are drawn to and your dream clientele would be drawn to also. Keep it simple and clean, make your page focused around what services you’re providing and your brand values. Use a post-planning app to see your content before you post so you can plan everything out so it looks cohesive and flows good together. My fav apps for this is planoly and preview.
CAPTIONS
Again, keep it simple, talk about the basics, what are lash extensions, why do your clients need them, how to wash lashes, the different styles, etc. Be educational, not salesy. Don’t be afraid to show your personality to really connect with your audience, it will attract the perfect clients for you! (P.S. click on my popup on this page and get a freebie sent to you with 30 days of content inspo!)
HASHTAGS
Use specific, local hashtags that your ideal clientele and audience would be looking at when they’re looking for a service provider.
BIO
The bio is the first impression people get of you and your brand. Include your name, what you offer and your area of expertise, how to book an appointment with you, a link is even better! It’s that simple!
HIGHLIGHTS
The instagram highlights are a great way to categorize information to be easily accessible to your audience. Instagram stories can be a powerful way to let your followers in on the behind the scenes stuff, it gives a more authentic picture of you and helps build trust with potential clients. Then important information you want to stay on your profile can be put into highlights shown at the top of your instagram page. Some examples of great highlights I’ve seen are FAQs, Tour of your treatment room, Get to know the artist better, Services you offer, etc., makes the overall experience more personal!
Stay consistent with posting lash content, show your personality and always be authentic to your brand to attract the right people, not just anyone! When done right, social media can play a huge role in reaching and engaging with potential paying customers. I hope you found this blog post helpful in learning how to utilize social media for your lash business!
